The reason I haven't become obese is because I know how to act so that this doesn't happen.

I have. I changed my eating. My wife is battling her weight. I train regularly, she doesn't always. She eats as much as I do often, and sometimes more.  Until she eats less and trains more, she will be overweight. Period.

These days lap band surgery is covered by most health insurance

There is no reason to be obese, none

I saw a skinny everyday normal guy looking man with an extremely fat obese woman, she was about two and an half times larger than the man, and as I was weighing onions I over heard what the woman said to the man; "well actually I just don't know what I'm going to buy from here, I'm on a diet, usually I buy normal stuff like yougurt, some sort of cerial, chicken nuggets, cream cheese and stuff but I don't know what I'm supposed to eat now, so buy whatever you want to eat, but don't buy something weird"

Assuming one is healthy enough to have surgery. There have been people who managed to remain obese following lap band surgery.

I knew a little guy back in the day who wouldn't even look at a girl unless she weighed 3 bills.
