After seeing David Blaine's street magic special years ago I got all into it.  Learned how all the tricks are done and started to practice.  There's some I can't do partially to having bodybuilder hands and being able to quickly hide objects but I find it fun.  Was at a halloween party and did a couple of the mind fuck tricks, very simple to perform but people get completely blown away by the results.  Had women cream in their pants, total come fuck me eyes after I did it.  Pretty fun shit.

i tend to use more cards than anything, coins never quite clicked with me. you'd be AMAZED how much of a foot in the door you can get if you can knock out a couple simple effects. used to carry a few gaffed bills in my pocket for whenever the situation called for it.
