Isn't socialism just a self-check on anarchy?
« on: November 30, 2014, 04:04:01 PM »
I've been thinking about this idea..  As the pendulum of politics swings right in some ways conservatism, libertarianism, etc. becomes more popular.  Generally under these circumstances prosperity and economic success improves greatly.  Now, what is the result of this as it continues to create the mega-rich, those who have become so successful and ignorant of the 'common man' and his world?  This is especially true if the wealth is inherited or born-into versus someone becoming successful through their own effort.

Think of the Hollywood stars', and the George Soros', and the Pelosi's.  These people have absolutely no idea what's going on in 99% percent of society other than causes they influence or insert themselves into on a daily basis, yet it is arguable that the very political platforms, economic systems, and philosophies that they rant and rail against are the same which brought them to such great levels of power and luxury.

It is as if the free-market and constitutional republican system itself, so beneficial to those who embrace it, actually creates frequent results in the form of people who live in ignorance, guilt, and a pervasive view that they know best and can dictate the lives of others.  These shit-heads actually believe that the same ideas that have benefited them are the essence of evil in mankind.

So I ask you, if this is true, than do the basic beliefs of conservatives or libertarians actually create the very problems of outcome about which we complain?

I say 'we' because I am certainly on the right side of the political spectrum.

Also, referring to the title, this encourages the political pendulum to then swing back somewhat or be restrained in some way.  It's a cycle.

I consider socialism and authoritarianism to be on similar sides and both oppose anarchy on the other.
