Maine, interesting. I've always wanted to know this: Do you ever get sick of lobster?
Haha......never. There is kind of a perception that we eat it year round but actuality is that for me anyway it is mostly a summer time food. There is also a lobster season and hard shell is definitely preferable to soft shell.
I will say though my friends from Manhattan and Boston are envious of the pricing here if you know where to go. I know of one oceanside lobster pound that had a 3 lobster meal + steamers for $28 and was also one of few BYOB places in the state . A single Maine lobster meal at a restaurant in NYC approaches $100 which is outrageous.
I actually prefer Alaskan King Crab to lobster for ease of getting out of the shell and the meat is a bit sweeter.
