The handshake is the one moment in civilized society where you will be in physical contact with your adversary in business. Whether it's a client, a competing salesman, a new guy at work or whatever, a crushing handshake will send a powerful message. Often times a vice like handshake will defeat the other guy right away. Therefore I stress a lot of grip and hand work in the gym.

On overly strong handshake sends a signal that you are an insecure asshole.

Definitely one to avoid in bidniss.

Agreed. Anyone who squeezes your hand too hard in a handshake is trying to show how alpha he is, without actually being one. You don't give someone a weak pussy shake either.
Even better, the ol' hand on the elbow with a handshake. You'll see presidents do this all the time. Typical one uper.
