I'm white.  My kid is white.  Most police around here are white.

I tell my kid "Dude, cops have a stressful-ass job.  They never know when the person they stop for running a red light happens to have murder warrants or a dead body in the trunk.  They are prepared all day to be in a life-or-death gun battle.  So you have to work with them, go above and beyond to BE CAREFUL around them.  Move slow, double check if you're reaching for anything, offer to let them grab stuff, and agree within reason with requests to diffuse situations"

The day after 4 cops were wasted in a diner in seattle, i was pulled over.  Amber alert for a kidnapped 3 year old blond boy by a scruffy white dude.  I was a scruffy white dude with a blond 3 year old.  They were on edge and thought they had a kidnapper on their hands.  I happily kept hands on wheel and agreed to be cuffed while they removed my gun from pocket and made sure kid wasn't kidnapped.

I didn't like it, but I know they're stressed out and only human.

you call your son dude  ::)

Good for the cops. At some point the city will be begging for them to get back to normal. I laugh hard at you clowns who don't care about spending but suddenly are all concerned. Typical liberal hypocrite... Too funny.

"Free healthcare" lol

"Free college" oh brother

Just too funny.

I hope the mayor himself needs the police and they tell him to go get fucked. That would be the icing on the cake.

Why?  from what we are hearing, "arrests are down"!

people are suddenly sweethearts.  Lower arrest numbers have nothing to do with police slacking.  Why would people beg for police to... um... "stop slacking"?

they're gambling with public safety.  And eventually, some NYC citizen will suffer because of their selfish actions.

for public urination, right?   Agreed, we should be able to whip our cawks and paint a  mailbox or homeless person with our urine when the feeling hits us.

Oh, and traffic offenses are down 90%, huh?   Are they all "BS summons?"  Things like speeding, driving in wrong lane, not using signals - these things that don't affect public safety, huh?   ;)

it's true tho.   The funeral thing was classless, but only hurt feelings.

The Jan 2015 accidents/casualties from traffic are going to be way worse than 2014.  Even though "useless tickets" are down.  Many of these tickets are for things that keep people safe.  I bet people in NY are parking anywhere, shifting lanes without giving a shit, then double parking to get out and urinate on a bus stop bench.

No, they won't.  Basically, 95% of what NYPD officers do is bullshit to generate revenue. You could fire half of the department and actual crime would probably stay level. The only thing that would change is $$$ for city.

sometimes they are.  not often.  usually the person shot has it coming.  But sometimes, no.  sometimes, people that don't break the law are gunned down.

they move too fast for their wallet, for example, like the gas station shooting we saw recently.   cop screamed "give me your wallet" and the dude quickly obeyed.  Too quickly lol... cop shot him.  dude didn't break a law to get shot.

Good point. But I think the odds of getting shot by a cop while complying are probably lower than getting  struck by lightning

BS.  Law-abiding citizens, regardless of color, are not being gunned down by the police.  The mayor's son will not have a problem unless he beats the crap out of a stranger (Martin), gets stoned, robs a store, assaults and then charges a cop (Brown), or gets arrested 31 times, is on parole for violent crime, and resists arrest (Garner).  So unless his son is going to be a thug, what he hold him is unmitigated BS.

How do you make the connection between Martin and the cops?

BB is acting like it NEVER happens.  It's not every day lke whiners say, but it's not "never" as the ass-killing, compliant lapdog police kneepadders claim.  There are bad cops that do bad shit... they're just rare.  The problem is them AND the cops that won't turn them in.

Imagine firefighters not turning in a firebug they work with.  Imagine teachers not turning in another teacher who molests because 'yeah, but his math scores are awesome'.   Disgusting, this blue wall.

Yep...here's a good example:  http://www.thenation.com/blog/177908/two-cops-found-not-guilty-fatal-beating-schizophrenic-homeless-man#

Not to mention the cops tried to murder two minority women in LA under the justification they were scared of Dorner.  ::)
They got nothing but a slap on the wrist.

If you want to call it that. They became part of a report that said procedures hadn't been followed.

Does anyone know of anything further?

...and don't forget about their co-worker that rammed his cruiser into an innocent guy's vehicle at an intersection, right before opening fire into his window and door in an attempt to kill him.

It was excused due to "extreme anticipation".

I think its even more rare, certainly in my experience, when a cop knows another cop is breaking the law, certainly committing a felony offense, and they don't say something. Even if just for the sake of keeping their jobs. Again, let me say I am naive about NYPD and LAPD. My experience in a Dept that considered large but pales in comparison to those two departments is that "bad" cops are outed by cops. It's not a made up number that the vast majority of our Internal Affairs complaints originate from inside the department. Corrupt cops don't last long here. No doubt some exist as I type this and tomorrow we may all read about a local cop who was robbing banks on the side..but there won't be any cops covering up for him. With recordings it's almost impossible for cops to get away with anything anymore. Yeah, there are bad cops, and its my job and every other person wearing a badge to get them off the force. Back to your example of the firefighters..yeah, there have been fire fighters that have set fires in the past, but I doubt any of his coworkers knew about it. If they did and didn't report it, their dirt bags. Same with cops. This blue wall isn't that high these days.. at least not in my experience
