In 2005, long before you knew who Obama was, my wife and I started a business. We were an instant success. Money was rolling in and instead of acting like richies, we invested back into the business. In 2007 we opened a second location in a neighboring city. Little did we know, the economy was about to tank. Long story short, we fell on very hard times and went bankrupt in Feb of 2009. I could sit here and blame it on Bush because of his de-regulation and "trickle down effect" but instead I became depressed and felt like my life was shit. Thank goodness I had a new daughter that motivated me to not give up. We were living on a single income of 40k which barely got us by. We decided to buck up and invest in ourselves. My wife and I both went back to school full time, I got my bachelors and she got her masters. I doubled my salary in 3 years and now life is great. I could sit here and douche out saying how Bush crushed my life, the economy, the housing market, etc but instead I realized none of these fuckers care about me and got on with my life.I don't know your business situation meaning, what kind of business, what kind of business plan or why you went bankrupt. Most people who go out business are either poor planners, too much overhead and not enough sales, re-invested too much back into the business with no to little return, tapped the CC'd, couldn't payback a business loan, personal loan, lines of credit...just debt in general. Grew too fast, grew too slow or just flat out started out too big. I'm glad (seriously because I hate to see businesses go under) you managed to pull yourselves out but the bottom line is you plan for down economic times why? Because it's a business cycle. But when someone purposely tries to derail that cycle and your not prepared, then there's thats on you. I've been doing what I do full time since 1997. 4 years ago I decided to open my own private gym. But here's the thing. I, like a lot of people didnt trust what Obama had planned. His record of lying and doing the complete polar opposite and knowing what his agenda was when he was first campaigning (think when Joe the plumber called him out) couldnt' be ignored. I took that into consideration when I opened. Now, we're not big, I only employ 6 but my overhead is low and I have ZERO business debt and owe nothing equipment wise. I had two investors that were willing to help me with $150k but after looking what my overhead was and already coming in with clientele there was no need. But the main reason was....yes, I didn't trust Obama or the left. Today, quite frankly I have litte to say about the repubs but hey, they just took over last month so time will tell. Just a little added fact about taxes. Obama now wants to raise the death tax from 40 to 60%. Coach, policies are bought by the richest and do nothing for the rest of us. Your attempt to act like Obama is so bad and the repubs are so great is silly. Get a fucking clue and quite pretending like you matter. You don't.
