I think it's also because he advocates alternative medicine.
Not everything can be pill based. And that can rankle some big pharm companies...
Think about, if more people ate less unhealthy foods, moved more, there would be less type 2 diabetes, and less people taking meds for it. That hurts the bottom line for pharm companies that make the medication.

Millions of doctors tell their clients the same thing every day (eat healthier and exercise)..  People like Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil promote bullshit "fixes" just to get ratings and make money.
