Wow.....
This is an incredible turn of events. I did not think Dana would actually pull his biggest money draw from the card, strip him of his title and suspend him.
That's a strong statement and will hopefully deter other fighters from following suit.
Thinking a little off-kilter here, I wonder if Jones will feel jaded after he resolves his legal matters and considers something drastic like a move to Bellator. I don't know how many fights he has left on his contract, but imagine how much more Bellator would drop on Jones if he were to make that move. They would probably double what he makes from the UFC and pay for any legal fees to dispute his contractual obligations. Imagine the possibilities if the UFC's best fighter (undefeated and with a record of slaughtering the top fighters/legends in all of Pro MMA) decides to leave the UFC and make Bellator his home. I could see many UFC fighters following him if he does.
"1"
Dana/UFC did the right thing.
ONE mishap they could spin (his crash a few years ago) but not another one that is even worse (hurting a pregnant woman and running, and having ganja in the car).
There has to be a line and now it's past that line.
