I remember someone commenting on one his fights mentioned his "thick" calves and said that's one of the reasons he is so quick on his feet and can dart in and out of range.
Oh brother.
Manny on that MTwain Muscle Mayhem calf raise routine to become an All-Time Great.
I did think it was an odd thing for a TV commentator to say. I have found no relationship between the size of a boxers calves and the speed of his foot work.Isn't there a term called "sprinter's calves" which means the calves are small and short and gives the impression of long skinny ankles and are usually associated with Black sprinters, the fastest runners in the world/
We sure do...Calf stretches first thing in the morning, mon-fri
any asian that does some sort of laboring activity gets gigantic calves that are ripped i seen this skinny asian who weighed no more than 140 soaking wet and it look like someone had put footaballs inside his calves
I have a feeling he's going to destroy Mayweather.De la Hoya said that the calves are his biggest weapon, because they allow him to close the distance in a millisecond, and you never expect him to be in your face that quickly.
You guys that are comparing sprinters speed to boxing quick feet really sound stupid. Totally different... Have you never heard of a quick running back with cat-like quickness that can avoid contact - but doesn't have great break away speed??? Come on - I know you can't be seriously making that argument
