Mayweather vs Pacquiao - Why it was a great prize fight.
« on: May 04, 2015, 07:46:37 AM »
Too many forget the origins of boxing was as "prize fighting". In other words, you fight for $$$.
By waiting 5 yrs the 2 fighters walked away with the biggest purse in boxing history.

I didn't pay to see it on PPV, but I heard it was  a lack luster fight.

For fans it may have been a let down, but for the those directly involved , it was a big pay day.

Fight was a flat out snooze fest.   Pac would occassionally try a flurry or two and Money would just shrug it off and mouth "nope".

What this fight needed was two young, hungry mexican fighters in their prime gunning hard for the title.

Jaime Fox even messed up the National Anthem with excessive ghetto yodeling.

After Spurs got dropped the fight was the capper on a craptastic evening.

I had a hunch it would be a lot more super hype then epic fight.

you stupid.  they had leo santa cruz with another mexican in a standard rock em sock em robot unskilled 10 round fight or whatever it was because i couldn't sit through that shit either.  howard, it was a money grab old man fight from bottom to top. and manny had the nerves to say rematch, so he could steal another ppv check. modern day boxing fans are clowns.
