The latest Fox News national poll finds another reshuffling in the race for the 2016 Republican nomination, as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker gets a post-announcement bump and businessman Donald Trump claims more of the spotlight.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton still dominates the Democratic race. Yet the poll also warns trouble may be ahead for her.

Among Republican primary voters, Trump captures 18 percent. He’s closely followed by Walker at 15 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 14 percent. No one else reaches double-digits.

Support for Trump is up seven percentage points since last month and up 14 points since May. He’s also the candidate GOP primary voters say they are most interested in learning more about during the debates.

Donald Trump feuds with Rick Perry, calls him dumb; 'Should be forced to take IQ Test'

Donald Trump has jumped back into the ring — this time for an all-out brawl with fellow Republican presidential contender Rick Perry. Trump started the feud with multiple comments in recent weeks bashing Perry’s work securing the border while serving as governor of Texas.

After several measured defenses of his border policies, on Thursday Perry finally fired back with a more aggressive statement, saying, “What Mr. Trump is offering is not conservatism, it is Trump-ism — a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense.”

“Donald Trump continues to demonstrate his fundamental misunderstanding of border security,” said Perry.

Trump tweeted back: “.@GovernorPerry just gave a pollster quote on me. He doesn’t understand what the word demagoguery means.””.@GovernorPerry failed on the border. He should be forced to take an IQ test before being allowed to enter the GOP debate,” Trump added, reiterating a trope about the Texas Republican that surfaced after numerous fumbles during the primary 2012 campaign.

The Republican-on-Republican smackdown was Trump’s second of the day.

On Thursday morning, the New Yorker published an interview with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who said that Trump had “fired up the crazies” in the Republican party.

Trump responded by tweeting that McCain “should be defeated in the primaries.”

“Graduated last in his class at Annapolis — dummy!” Trump added.

so much for the theory that trump will only be a sideshow.   He's the whole doggone show now.

RAND PAUL ON TENNESSEE TERROR: RESTRICT IMMIGRATION FROM MUSLIM NATIONS

HOUSTON, Texas — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said in an exclusive interview that he wants to restrict immigration from predominantly Muslim countries after the Chattanooga, Tennessee, terrorist attack.

Paul said in an interview backstage at a rally his presidential campaign is holding inside the Hyatt Regency here in downtown Houston:

I’m very concerned about immigration to this country from countries that have hotbeds of jihadism and hotbeds of this Islamism. There was a program in place that Bush had put in place—it stood for entry-exit program from about 25 different countries with a lot of Islamic radicals, frankly. I think there does need to be heightened scrutiny. Nobody has a right to come to America, so this isn’t something that we can say ‘oh their rights are being violated.’ It’s a privilege to come to America and we need to thoroughly screen those who are coming.

The alleged shooter in the Chattanooga incident—which claimed the lives of four U.S. marines, whom he allegedly murdered in the terror attack—was named Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. The 24-year-old was born in Kuwait and immigrated to the United States before he opened fire in Chattanooga, killing four Marines.

Paul also talked about another similar incident regarding foreigners from the Middle East who were placed in Kentucky via immigration programs for refugees—and tried to, before getting caught, buy military grade missiles. Paul said:

In my hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky, we had two Iraqi refugees who were let into our country who were plotting to buy stinger missiles a few years ago, but they got arrested and put in jail. But I think we’re doing the wrong thing by just having this open door policy to bring in people without significant scrutiny. I’m for increasing scrutiny on people who come on student visas from the 25 countries that have significant jihadism. Also, any kind of permanent visas or green cards, we need to be very careful. I don’t think we’re being careful enough with who we let in.

Paul added that he’s planning to, via his position in the U.S. Senate, investigate Muslim immigration problems. Paul is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management and is also a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“I’m going to have our subcommittee and maybe committee in Homeland Security look into whether or not we could reinstitute this NSEERS [National Security Entry Exit Registration System] program—it was entry-exit program that was heightened scrutiny for 25 predominantly Muslim countries that have significant jihadist movements and anti-American sentiment in their country,” Paul said. “We need increased scrutiny on those countries before those people come to our country to visit or permanently. We have to have heightened scrutiny.”

brutal attempt to pander to anti-muslims while sucking up to the pro-amnesty crowd, which Rand has ALREADY aligned himself with.

"The 11 million that are here, I think there could be a work status for them" - Rand Paul, April 2015

Sorry, you can't allow the border to leak like a sieve for mexican rapists, but you want to keep out all the people from other countries.  All you'll have them is a bunch of iraqi with fake IDs claiming to be Mexican anyway.

Rand = fail.

With the new debate rules and a huge field to compete against, the obvious goal for the GOP candidates is to simply make it on the stage of 10. From that point you are allowed at least few minutes talk to a huge audience and anything can happen.

For many of these candidates they need to start making ripples soon or they will be left out in the cold.

Guys like Lindsey Graham whose only plan seems to be going on tv and playing kiss ass while doing absolutely zero to fire up the base will find themselves sitting at home.
