He was on dialysis for kidney failure and died during his second chemoembolization treatment for a liver tumor. He had severe heart disease and he had been stented many times for arterial blockages.

His body was too compromised from kidney and heart disease to handle the liver cancer treatment.

Guys just spoke with DA's next of kin. They said this wasn't true. Derrick may have licked  a needle once or twice prior to injecting it into his body, but it was never to sterilize the needle. He did this to make the injection easier, very similar to the way you'd  like a needle on an air pump prior to inserting it into a basket or football.

I was told if he did use a potentially  contaminated needle he'd clean in 200 proof burbon (this may also explain the licking, but I'm merely  guessing with that statement it has not been confirmed nor  was it implied that he did this).



Update: Just spoke with the trauma nurse who was Derrick's primary medical care giver. He said he has no reason to believe Palumbo ever sold DA  fake growth hormone.

He died from a congenital disease that he had since childhood. It was undiagnosed.

Had nothing to do with drug use.

uh...no...There is no 200 proof anything, even Everclear.  With just distillation it is only possible to make 190 proof alcohol.  This is due to the vapor pressures of alcohol and water.  Too much water evaporates with the alcohol in the still.
Any higher purity and you have to get it from chemical companies, and not liquor companies.

Well, Greg Valentino for one. He was so lazy that if he dropped the needle on the floor he would use it anyway.

I once had a friend who did a whole 12 week cycle using the same pin. We couldn't just buy needles
here and he couldn't get a hold of more, as ridiculous as it sounds. I wouldn't have done it but he did and had no problems luckily. No attempt at any type of sterilization either, just put the syringe and needle back in the box of gear after injection.
