ND, did you ever catch his Finals posing video from the 2003 Mr O ? Walks out and the whole crows goes silent. PURE ... DOMINATION. You could just hear the " awe " in the crowd. Still gives me shivers when I watch it every now and again.

I have and what's funny is Jay beating him in the prejudging in 2001 , Gunther beating him at the S.O.S in 2002 and Kevin beating him in the posing rounds in 2002 everyone thought 2003 Ronnie was finally going to get beaten lol and man did he just obliterate all of them badly. Ronnie sent a message in 2003 for sure. But it was the beginning of the end , he started to go down hill from then on. But he cemented his legacy 8 straight , most pro wins ever.

One of the few Olympias where there was virtually no debate about the winner.

As an aside, I recall reading an article about the show. The writer questioned what Ronnie had to do to achieve that level of development. I had been reading bbing mags for 20 years and that was the first time a writer showed concern, albeit indirectly, about a bodybuilder's drug intake.

Agree with everything in your post. He, without a doubt, sent a message that year. And I remember it being a very emotional win for him as well. Mainly because, as you said, a lot of people had Jay, Gunther, etc. winning that show. " Overthrowing the King " as it were. Well ... not that day. Nope. No one but God stood a chance of beating him that day lol.

My friend ... I can't even begin to imagine what cycle he was on for that year. Clearly, health went out the door for that contest. Ronnie was looking to redemption ... and nothing else lol

Ronnie's legacy---when you only know of one thing or are known for that one thing, you are defined by it. What made him, will destroy him, and he allowed it.

He apparently can't do anything else, because that is the only he really knows. He possibly never really found anything else that gave him that desire or euphoria.

Look at Ruhl walking out at the 2004 Mr Olympia, the guy looked literally photoshopped. Far crazier than Ronnie.
