I have this little home office area in our apartment and I finally finished setting it up really nicely with shelves and shit . My wife buys me this really nice, white leather designer chair because I have complained about how my previous chairs break so easily. I love the chair. It is beautiful and extremely comfortable. I joke about how I might start sleeping in the chair.
After about three weeks, the chair stops reclining. I tell my wife about the chair not working and she can't believe it. I tell her it's because I'm too heavy. I've weighed over 220lbs my entire adult life and am about 238 right now. I have had problems with office chairs at several of my jobs. These chairs just aren't built for a guy as huge as me, I tell her. She comes to the office, looks at the chair and looks at me like I'm crazy. "If you push the adjustment rod in, it keeps the chair from reclining. You knew that, right? "
LOL no, I did not know that. I must have accidentally been locking the chairs for years. On top of that, I've probably legitimately broken at least two chairs trying to force them to recline properly, which is why she also believed that these cheap chairs were actually breaking and not just locked into place.
