Most prudent business owners don't pay themselves a dime for many years, they put all the money back into the company to see it succeed. Yet bodybuilders think that somehow they will be making the same $$ as when they were sponsored. The stress and time you have to put into a new company skyrocket once you go from employee to employer.

Is it safe to say now that Kai is not the broken down poor guy Generation Iron portrayed him to be, but on the same level financially as Heath?

I think Kai is doing well for himself. He appears to be very busy doing those camps and guest posingd. To me that seems like a better way to make money than the supplement route.

From my perspective I am sure there are young people who buy these products because they are made by their heroes but long term maybe not. I do know some supplement people who sell their stuff locally and in their gym and it works for them.

Of course it's all about diversification but if I were thinking long term I would not invest in a supplement company. Too many and too much to keep it going

I believe they are supremely jaded at that point.

Think about someone like Cutler or Phil. They've been serious bodybuilders for 2 decades or more. They outright know that the bodybuilding world is built on lies. They know the supplements are shit and they've probably already "repped" a few brands saying the same canned bullshit for years. They wear the shirt and the hat, and sit at the booth between competitions. The move from brand to brand and they realize "the kids will buy whatever shit I sell from whatever scammer company I represent."

The smart ones simply realize that it's good business to represent their own brand.

After all, how hard is it to source aspartame and milk byproduct protein powder?
This.
It's like Kobe going from Adidas to Nike, in a sense. And Jordan having his own line by Nike.

It's a shame that all these pros are going the supp company route (not that I buy any bb supps). I doubt any of them are doing it because they want to create the best supps ever, or because they have had this amazing idea that will revolutionise the fitness industry, they are just doing it for a buck - which to me means the product will be shit.
Yes, because Muscletech, MusclePharm and MuscleMeds were all about creating the best supps ever and never were in it for the bucks. You. Fucking. Moron.

Yikes but so many people do ish behind the scenes.
His is out there but he's never hidden or been ashamed. I give him credit for that.
I would actually buy his pre workout if he had grapefruit flavor because that truly
Is someone who can rise above

He should be ashamed though.  If you buy his pre-workout supplement, you get a free white towel.

If you aren't ashamed to don those s & m get ups then I doubt there is much that can shame you. I bet Kai still does some work in that arena and I'm sure hes paid very well.

First off, its his manager that was doing the talking....not Kai.  Secondly, his manager Adam was pitching for up to a million dollars for Kai.

Phil Heath was dropped not because Muscletech couldn't afford it but because they would rather spend it on physique models and MMA fighters....along with the fact that he wanted everything paid for like a diva.

Interesting.  Do you mean Phil was demanding out of hand food expenses to be paid for, as well as outrageous travel fees?  First class instead of standard?

Yes. It was something like that. Not just the Olympia.  Any show.

Interesting.  I knew you would have this information, Wiggs.  Thank you.
