Stephen Colbert owning late night?
« on: September 11, 2015, 03:36:24 AM »
It's it just me or does he have the only show for adults? Loved his interviews with the US VP and the CEO of Uber. He asks real questions. Just like with Jeb Bush....

The other late night hosts come off as infantile in comparison.

I wonder if he'll interview Mr Olympia  (not a fucking chance just needed BBing content)

It's probably not a good idea to piss off half the country and half of your potential viewers by blatantly pandering to one side of the political spectrum.  It's a strategy bound to lose.  He'll slink off like a dog with his tail between his legs in a few years.

So you'd suggest being disingenuous and that he should state beliefs that he personally doesn't live by? You sound like a Republicant.

He's funny but far more genuine. The only thing I don't like so far are the musical guests. Not bad just not my type of music.

you'll be surprised to learn that the folks he's poking fun at literally don't get satire.

This has been studied and his fans come from all across the spectrum.  8)

I watched the first two episodes of his new show, and found it to be very dull.

I don't watch much TV. This in and of itself doesn't make me smart or dumb.  It just  keeps me from being more of either.

Depending upon whom you're speaking with.  ;D

The Biden interview was very moving.  The Uber interview was very hard hitting for a talk show.

Colbert is a troll. He can't decide who he is. Going for the troll laugh one minute and being ultra serious the next. It's hard to watch. For liberal jackasses only.

He's your typical phony with talent. He'll play whatever side "they" tell him to play not unlike Glen Beck.

And in a similar manner, so is Ex-lax.

They'll let it play out for a bit, all the while losing viewers, then shitcan him within 2 years.  It's like turning a sketch into a movie.  Sometimes it works if you've got a really great writer.  Usually it just goes on too long and flops.

Network is dead anyway.

The story going around my old radio friends:

The people who invited him to tour Iraq didn't realize that he was a comedian...Making fun of them...
