How's communism working out in the Netherlands? People like to throw ridiculous shit up like that as some sort of valid argument against socialism, most of america is already ran by socialism, the streets you drive on, the cars that you ride in, the houses you live in are all subsidized and socialized by the government in some way.
America has never been a true capitalist economy so get over that argument already, besides being factually incorrect it just makes you look stupid.
