What Merkel has done is trigger a return of EU countries to their former independent status. Those countries that recognize how mass immigration destroys law and order will restrict their borders and become isolated. That is not really a bad thing. The former Eastern Bloc countries are a lot smarter in that regard.
She has totally screwed up Germany overnight. The Swedes were always strange and have been doing this for years - but something happened to Merkel's brain recently and I have no idea what. Too bad because I love Germany and do business there.
The EU waited and waited and waited while this problem grew and became worse. But fuck it, it was Greece, Hungary, Italy etc dealing with boatloads of immigrants and dead bodies on their shores and riots in camps. The best thing to do would be immediately deport by boat anyone who arrived and thus disincentivise paying gangsters to illegally flood the continent. Send aid, offer refuge to genuine refugees, fine.
No, Merkel thought she would solve Germany's aging demographic issue and look like an angel atoning for Germany's past by saying we can take 800k people.... wait 1 million.... shit it is already 1.2 million and word has spread. Close the borders. All this after the picture of a dead 3 year old on a beach, after 1000s of others had drowned/died crossing. Sweden etc said we are great we take people. Now both those countries and more have closed borders and are only starting to see the resultant social chaos.
Before they did that, they were calling Hungary facists and racists and xenophobes. Now they are being "pragmatic" when they have the problem on their doorstep. EU is a giant indecisive vagina, as an institution, begging to be raped.
