Staggering Stats: There Have Been More Mass Shootings Than Days This Year

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/san-bernardino-shooting/staggering-stats-there-have-been-more-mass-shootings-days-year-n473436

Despite only accounting for five percent of the global population, an astounding 31 percent of the world's mass shootings occur in the U.S.

That sobering statistic from the University of Alabama Department of Criminal Justice was again brought to the forefront Wednesday, when a couple killed at least 14 people in San Bernardino, California — the deadliest mass shooting in the U.S. since the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, three years ago.

Even worse: This year, there have been more mass shootings — defined as incidents in which four or more victims are shot — than days in the calendar year. According to ShootingTracker.com, which tracks deaths by guns in America, the U.S. has seen 355 mass shootings so far in 2015.

Twenty days of 2015 saw four or more mass shootings in a single day.

Time to address the issue, correct?

Let's just change that slightly to mass killings, instead of mass shootings.

How many innocent deaths (elderly men, women and children, wedding parties and funeral processions) is Obama and the US responsible for due to the bombings and drone attacks in various countries of the middle east?

And what about police killings of American citizens?  I suppose they were all justified or at least that's what most "internal affairs" investigations and "independent police review boards" (usually made up of retired/former
police officers or former judges, who were former prosecutors who were former police officers) tend to conclude.

This in no way excuses these mass shootings,  but I think does put things into perspective when a mass shooting occurs and then there are calls for more gun control that doesn't work and has never worked except to disarm law abiding citizens.  People intent on doing harm will ignore any law and find a way to obtain weapons.

apply the same criteria to car wrecks.

WAY more people killed in car wrecks than days of the year.

how bout cigarettes?   vodka bottles?  Double cheeseburgers?
