75 years on 6/6/1944

-the operation was supposed to be on 6.5.1944 but the weather was terrible and Allies had to post pone the operation.

-one of the greatest modern battles ever
-Rommel never got to use the Panzer reserves since the German High command thought the final attack would have come at the port of calais.  some experts believe the germans would have won if he had access to the panzer reserves that morning
-those white cliffs the US Rangers took was crazy

"the longest day"was a great WW2 movie about D-Day

I was actually thinking about flying over for some festivities. Or possibly later that month to observe any type of 100 year celebration of the signing of treaty of Versailles.

Western society peaked in 1945, beginning of the end.
