Obama performed very poorly in this speech on Sunday night.  64% of americans aren't happy with obama's handling of ISIS.  

So what does Trump do?  He takes all the heat off Obama on Monday by coming out with "We need a religious mandate on immigrants, because 2 out of 1,000,000,000 Muslims in the world attacked us in California".   When you have Dick freakin cheney saying your ass needs to lighten up, lol, you know maybe you're pushing it too far, Donald.

When an opponent is harming himself, you never bail him out, you let him sink himself.  No, Trump coudln't let obama suffer in the media for a day.  He had to step in it for obama.

North Dakota: Muslim refugee raped gas station clerk while uttering allah akbar


MAPLETON, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman at Gordy’s Travel Plaza in Mapleton, North Dakota refused to show up to court this morning.
A Cass County Sheriff Deputy tells us they will try again to get Abdulrahman Ali out of his jail cell and in front of the judge. If Ali refuses they may use probable cause and set bail.
Ali is facing 5 felony counts including; gross sexual imposition, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and two counts of terrorizing.
According to court documents Ali forced a woman working at Gordy’s Travel Plaza into the women’s bathroom, locked the door behind him and started assaulting her in the center of the room naked.
When law enforcement arrived they began striking the door with a closed fist and yelling loudly, “open the door now,” according to documents. Officers also began to kick in the door around 20 times and yelling, “Are there any weapons?” At that time officers heard Ali say “She is my wife.”
The door eventually opened and officers found Ali completely naked and the victim was injured and in tears.

Fargo, N.D. (Valley News Live): The sister of a man in jail tonight accused of raping a woman at a Mapleton, North Dakota gas station says he has a mental disorder.
Cass County Investigators say Abdulrahman Ali forced a female clerk into the bathroom where he raped her. The victim told authorities she could hear Ali mumbling, but could not understand him. Once deputies arrived, they broke down the door and arrested Ali. After Valley News Live reported that Ali refused to leave his jail cell for today’s arraignment, his family contacted us saying he is a sick man.

what Trump did may actually be genius...as Erik Erickson pointed out, Trump just made the entire GOP field (besides Cruz) publically side with Obama on this.
in one fell swoop he immediately took the polar opposite position of Obama/the Left, had all the GOP candidates (aside from Cruz) sound soft on terror/borders/immigration while putting himself firmly to the right of all of them...to the public that doesnt follow politics, these is the optics now:

Obama/GOP candidates/all politicians = not going to do anything about terror/muslims/ISIS
Trump = will do something about terror/muslims/ISIS

what he has done is draw the clearest distinction possible between himself and the left, and more importantly has finally forced the rest of the GOP to publically show on which side they stand on a landmark issue of our time. this could be huge.

yeah, and I'm all for bombing what we gotta bomb.  I have ZERO care, I give ZERO fcks about them.  You won't fid any post, out of 200,000... where I defend a single muslim.  I don't care.

My point is the political damage that Trump is doing.  Our muslim allies... jordan, egypt, etc... what happens there?   Our muslim troops risking their ass daily... they may lose a little enthusiasm.   All of EUR suddenly telling us to fck off.

It's funny... when Rand paul wanted to close up some doors, everyone screamed about him being isolationist.  Trump's policy would create a de facto isolationist and could make things very tough for lots of americans abroad as an unintended consequence.

he's a pariah on the GOP.   He's the ultimate troll.  And I've been screaming it since minute #1.  He is only there to make the republicans look extreme, angry and immature.  And it's working.  He's TRYING to go 'over the top' to piss people off, and it's not working.  Repubs just can't see it
