America for its first 200-some years ensured that 90+% of its immigrants came from Europe. there was a total stoppage of immigration from the 1920's to the 1960's, when the democrats decided to open our doors to millions of 3rd-world immigrants, which ended up resulting in the Obama presidencies. various groups have at various times been blocked from immigrating, even by democrat presidents.

This isn't about curbing immigration. Of course it's not a free for all, but to say "If you are this RELIGION, you can't come in, really is unconstitutional and unamerican. Never have we, as a nation used ones RELIGION as a requirement for immigration.

I support halting ALL immigration if the immigrants are doing all of the killing.  Yes, out of 1.5 billion muslims, two of them did do a mass shooting last week.

The nation of Iran (or it's agents) had taken over our embassy and we're holding a group of our diplomats and citizens as hostages.  Restricting immigration from that country kind of makes sense both as a sort of sanction/retaliation (albeit weak).   Citizens of a nation who are holding our diplomats hostage are not the same thing as a persons choice of religion (some of whom are committing acts of terror and violence).  Even that ban was not as strident as what Trump has suggested.  There were exceptions:

We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. Also, if this is Trumps response to one terrible mass shooting incident then let's consider how many of the 300+ mass shootings this year (where 4 or more people were killed) were committed by native born US citizens.  What is Trump going to do about them?

BTW - I don't buy for a second that the family/friends/associates of the San Bernardino shooter had no clue they were radicalized.  I'm also sick of hearing muslims saying that these "radicalized" muslims are not really muslim.  I call bullshit on that too.   They most certainly are muslim.  All religions have groups have people that use their religious beliefs to commit acts of violence.   Sorry, you can't pretend your crazy aunt or uncle isn't really part of your "family".
