It amazes me why some people don't fight back. The victim received a beating, she may as well have made the perpetrators earn it.

Apparently the back story is the girl who was getting beat up ran away from home and was staying with one of the attackers. She stole from them, they caught her on the train, and attacked her.

That is what I read in the comment section on FB. Who knows.

Not saying it was justified, just saying the back story.

Sometimes shame and guilt can make people unwilling to fight back.  Someone experiencing those emotions may believe they deserve to be beaten.

To be fair to the victim, and the train riders, the full story, and a few other reports mention that the guy with them, who was one of the attackers brothers, was holding some sort of weapon off camera. That could explain why everyone seems indifferent to the whole thing.

Just call the police, we live in a civilized society year 2015 not 1000 b.c.
