Training through death
« on: January 03, 2016, 06:14:55 AM »
Someone posted in the Marie Osmond thread (corn) that she was hawking products a few days after her kid died.  This caused me to remember how when I was a teenager I was in the gym training shoulders the same day after my dad died that morning. What's wrongs with that?  There wasn't a whole lot of friends or family to notify and i wasn't abandoning the family because there were plenty of others around to offer each other solace.

It helped me to deal with my grief, sticking to my normal routine and also everyone knows working out kind of resets you mental thermostat.  Frankly going to the gym when someone dies is probably one of the best things you can do.

There's no "right" way to grieve. Most sentient humans know this.

Training helped when my dad died earlier this year, didn't mean I didn't care as he was my best mate as well as dad, it just helped a bit. Life has to go on no matter how bad you feel

When I was completely fucked up drinking and drugging, getting back into the gym always helped me to get back on track.

Training can be very theraputic, especially during tough times.

What do you mean "was?" You still are. You take steroids to get your skinny drug abused wasted body up to about 165lbs. You lie to your shrink about your anxiety to get benzos.

You have the audacity to tell people/write training articles on how to get a better body but you are just one drugged up liar.

You're completely lost since Potatocake left. How disgusting you are when you suck his ass like a homo in a airport bathroom. God you are just a complete waste. Go back to GH15 and keep talking shit about the people here. What an old fool you are.

Nevertheless, just getting in the gym, sweating and maybe getting a pump is huge for your mental outlook.  But you gotta sweat, none of this old man farting around one set every ten minutes stuff.  Sweat is a God.

I thought this thread was going to be about training through your own death, like one would train through an injury.  That's some pretty hardcore dedication but would probably mess up your form.

You can always go with "The departed would have wanted me to do this".  Always seems to work.
