Stumbled across this little neo-nior project from James Franco which is loosely based on Maury Terry's book "The Ultimate Evil", which in turn, was based on the conspiracy theories involved with the "Son of Sam" case. I'm not sure if it was to be a pilot for a full series, or just a little vanity project, but it turned out to be quite good. I'm not sure if they could've fleshed it out into a full series, but if they could, it might of had a nice "True Detective" vibe to it.
