A Newark, New Jersey deli owner who shot and killed an armed man will not face charges, police and prosecutors say.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray as well as Newark Police Director Eugene Venable say that the owner of the deli had a permit for the gun that he used to defend himself.
 
New Jersey is notorious for having some of the strictest gun regulations in the nation. The robber apparently thought that meant there was no legal way for his would-be victims to arm themselves.

According to Guns.buzz, Mark Robinson’s last words inside the New Neighborhood Deli Supermarket were “I thought you couldn’t own a gun in New Jersey.”

Robinson, 46, had walked into the deli around 8:30 p.m. and immediately pointed a gun at the owner, who didn’t hesitate to pull his own weapon and fire. Robinson was pronounced dead at around 10 pm.

i dunno, many dems love guns.  FL is packed with them.  People that don't care about gay marriage, don't care about abortion, don't bother getting involved with people's bedrooms... but they love guns.

I don't know how many dems get upset when a robber is shot.

yes they love guns so much they routinely vote for the political party who openly wants to curtail gun ownership as much as possible

I think they put many other issues ahead of gun curtailing.  It's like dating the chick with an annoying dog because the sex is so good and she buys you presents every week.  many dems aren't crazy about the way Dem leaders dislike guns... but no confiscation has happened, and they don't foresee it, and they prefer the dems for many other issues.

I think only a very small % of people get up and vote democrat because they anticipate a gun ban.  It's a huge issue to most repubs, and a smaller issue to dems, IMO.   Dems show much more passion about other issues, like obamacare, abortion, same-sex marraige and the right to import syrians by the thousand.
