NH Debate

I had Christie winning followed by Trump and Kasich. Cruz and Rubio showed poorly. Carson did ok but got next to no air time.

carson doesn't seek airtime.   Do no harm.  he wants a respectable showing in a few states so he can become a FOX host and author and cruise like Huck did.

Maybe that's why you think he did ok?

Trump was the only one up there I could see being in the office.

That's one of the few things at this point that really concerns me about him.  But as for him figuring-out details to solve problems, I now have enough confidence he'd find ways to do things that maybe wouldn't seem too obvious at first.  Except for the question of what he's up to, 100%, and that's a huge question, I do otherwise believe he could (and very possibly would) operate the office to our benefit.

trump would also be in trouble with enough TIME to talk about the issues.  He's awesome at winning people over with 20 second soundbites.  But give him 90 seconds to explain his economic plan in depth?  Give him 90 seconds to explain how he'll make a "deal" in the middle east?

Suddenly his brief two-line answers about greatness and winning and deals go out the window.  Trump doesn't WANT those 90 seconds.  He wants 15 seconds of it.

How true it would be, if he were to be running against someone legit.  But he is and would/will be running against liars and other people who want to avoid talking about exactly what they'd do, themselves.

Can you imagine, for instance, someone putting Hillary on the spot and asking her to explain her support for the latest trade agreement?  Using in-depth focus, she would get destroyed and may never recover from it.  So they're all giving cover to one another, is one way to look at it.  None of them want to face it.  Sanders may be the only one who would welcome an in-depth analysis, and I'm not entirely sure about him, even.

we learn a LOT about the candidates when they HAVE to speak for 90 seconds.  Repeating Rubio canned lines only lasts for so long.  Ask them a higher level thinking question where they must create an answer, and you learn where their weaknesses lie.

The two glaring things that stuck out to me yesterday.

1. Rubio is obviously up all night in front of a mirror repeating his same canned responses hundreds of times. Hell, he said the same exact line 3 times in a row last night!

2. I don't know who divies up the tickets for the audience but the fact that the crowd was carrying on like Jeb Bush was announcing he had just found the cure for cancer every time he said ANYTHING should have supporters of the GOP a little concerned about this whole process. C'mon, the guy is in 4th place AT BEST,  he shouldn't be getting those kinds of cheers. CORRUPT AS FUCK!!!!

So right.  They should be made to explain.

It's actually frightening to think there are people who would have him running our country.  Oh wait, I guess we could say the same thing about most or all of them.

I'm so glad Trump brought that up, because it wouldn't have occurred to many viewers that those kinds of dirty tricks are being played.

Amazing isn't it?

Jeb goes from having to tell his audience to clap 2 days prior and all of the sudden he is applauded like a rock star candidate 40 points ahead of the competition.

And then you DO have the candidate who is up by 20 points in the state where the debate is being held getting BOOED every time he makes a point. ::)

Someone should be investigated and made to answer for that.  If it wasn't an attempt to control response, then what the hell was it?
