Tom Hanks: America’s ‘Going to Be Fine’ if Donald Trump Gets the GOP Nomination

I enjoyed him in The Green Mile. Felt Cast Away lacked substance. And believe Bachelor Party was extremely underrated.

I also completely agree with his statement concerning Trump's candidacy.



Oscar-winner Tom Hanks thinks America is going to be just “fine” if Donald Trump earns the GOP presidential nomination — though he adds it will be a “hilarious” and exhausting general election season if the billionaire candidate wins the Republican nomination.

“Look, America’s going to be fine,” the 59-year-old actor, who supports Hillary Clinton, said in an appearance on CBS This Morning on Thursday. “We’re the greatest, most resilient nation in the history of all of civilization. We’ll be fine. We’ve worked ourselves out of holes many, many times over and over again.”

“I have no powers of clairvoyance like you geniuses in the news media,” Hanks added. “I’m not saying he’s going to be president of the United States… What I’m saying is we are going to have the most hilarious September, October and first week of November in a very long time. And you people [the media] are going to be exhausted.”

Hanks told the CBS team that he’s reading William Manchester’s book The Glory and the Dream, about American history between the years 1932 to 1952.

“This election now has nothing has nothing on the 1948 election for president,” he said. “It has nothing on the 1952 election for president. It’s just the same thing over and over and over. Except this time, the president of the junior chamber of commerce looks like he could have 1,100 delegates.”

Hanks reportedly donated the maximum allowable $2,700 to Clinton’s campaign last year.

The actor appeared on CBS to promote his latest film, A Hologram for the King.

listening to fox news radio last night.  the show that was on until 1am.

the host was right... how in the WORLD can trump unite all of the people he's alienated?  priebus?  the RNC?  All those donors?  Mccain supporters?  Bush supporters?  He cannot call someone "lyin ted" then get ted's supporters.  If you donated 2300 to Rubio, are you going to support the man who called him "little rubio"?

Hilary has a built-in 47% already.  Trump has to win nearly ALL those free swing voters to beat a democrat.
