First of all, I know that I am still new at this.
The point I want to make is that there are new guys coming on here all the time seeking advice. I understand why it is nearly torture for veterans to have to read and respond to this stuff. However, I think a horrible message is being sent to these new guys. The use of steroids already takes a beaten from the media. This is our Chance to combat that. By providing a positive informative environment, we have ammunition against the asshole doublestandard setters in the mainstream. When we curse people for asking simple questions, we validate the stereotype that conventional society has for us. (pissed off, raging, assholes, negative people..etc)
So, why should we do this? Well, we can start by taking a few simple steps. Veterans who have a low threshhold for newbie questions can go as far as looking at the name of the person posting. If the person has one star and 2 posts: it's a dead give away. Hell, don't even click on the link. If the person is causing trouble, responsible group members can report them to the moderator. So the moderator never even has to read it until notified. If the person is asking simple questions that are easily found in previous posts, we can ask them to please check the stick posts or review threads before returning a new topic. These are simple solutions to simple problems that will deal with the negativity. The use of steroids is serious. We should welcome the questions of beginners and be glad to help them. If we are not willing to do that, Then a chatroom for advanced steroid users is a better place for us. After all, we all know that a sure way to succeed is to generously share our knowledge with others. Thank you for reading and taking this into consideration. John
