I'm not debating the "need" that some Americans have to own guns. To most of the civilised world it's baffling, but they don't appreciate the constant worries of violence from certain members of society.
It won't baffle those countries once they're inundated with refugee children who become grown men and take whatever they want from the people that gave their parents a home 20 years ago. Anyone who's been mugged, robbed, had their home invaded or been held a gunpoint by criminals never questions the right to own firearms again.
I am laughing at the idea that it's a God given right. That's just a fcuking stupid thing to think.
It's no more stupid than thinking god created this planet or that god in general exists. Yet almost 7 billion people believe just that. Some of them think God gave them guns, while others think god gave them palm trees, but it's the same general concept.
Nor do you really think everyone is entitled to their views.
Sure I do. That's what being American is all about: You don't decide whose views are right or wrong, you just let them believe what they want. That's something people in the UK or France, where you can go to prison for making racially insensitive tweets or comments in public, wouldn't understand. They let the government decide what's best for everyone for them, and Canada has now joined that school of thought.
Some people are just plain wrong - it should more be a "God given right" to go to University (which would also be asinine) and get the best education possible to maximise your benefit to society, but it's clearly not.
Depends where you live. There's planned economies and semi-socialist ones where those things are, legally speaking, your right. In other places, you have to make your own way into college with loans and grades, or racial quotas if you're not White.
Just say "I want my guns because I enjoy them / I learned with my grandpa and it takes me back / they make me feel safer / they replace my tiny cock / I can't afford to live in the best neighbourhoods...".
I'll say what I want. That's the beauty of the First Amendment. You can't do it for me.
