I never understood why Samir was only able to come in dry for 1 year in his lengthy career. He was a pro from 1979 through 1996, yet he was only able to dial in it ONCE in his entire professional career in 1983. I get he didn't know what to do from 1979 through 1982 (he placed 15th in 1980, 9th in 1981 and 4th in 1982), but once he got the formula right in 1983, why then did he fuck with his conditioning again and come in 6th place the following year in 1984 and then 8th in 1988 and 9th in 1989, 8th again in 1990, 16th in 1991 and 1992, and 19th in 1994 and even place as low as 6th at the 1996 Masters? If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Then why did he keep trying too? The only real competition he had in 1984 would have been Haney (who he beat in 1983). At worst Samir should have come in 2nd in 1984 behind Haney, not 6th! WTF was he thinking? A mark of a true champion is CONSISTENCY and Samir never had it.
