It’s Official: Gary Johnson Is A Left-Wing Candidate
« on: August 25, 2016, 07:24:47 AM »
On Friday, Brian Doherty of the Libertarian flagship publication Reason scolded me, and by extension anyone else who has been turned off by some of the Johnson-Weld ticket’s public statements, that we were placing more importance on “the attitude stuff related to culture war issues about discrimination and guns” than on the really crucial issues of “spending or budgets or the growth of government.”

Then on Monday, Gary Johnson came out in favor of—drumroll, please—a carbon tax to fight global warming.

I guess the "Trump supports letting 11 million illegals stay" kinda took away that advantage.

Now we have to wait until trump endorses the carbon tax.   Don't feel like waiting?   Well, Trump's energy adviser DOES seem to support a carbon tax.  I wonder why lifetime liberal Trump would choose someone to run his energy wing, whothinks a "very very modest" carbon tax is okay.   Personally, I think a carbon tax is a load of shit.  I think the planet cools because it's a cyclical thing.

"My idea of a carbon tax would be to help fund clean fossil fuel research and development, not to fund the government, not to punish fossil fuel generation, not to manipulate fuel choice. Even a neutral, a revenue-neutral, carbon tax is inappropriate, in my view. But if we can have a very, very modest carbon tax to fund, again, the solution by utilizing fossil fuels like coal, I think even the industry would support that."

ODDLY ENOUGH - Hilary's plan for global warming actually doesn't include a carbon tax.

I'm sure it does, and I'm sure, like Obama, she'll find a way to add it later.  But right now, her plan doesn't include it.  Trump doesn't *seem* to support it, but I find it very odd that he would choose an energy adviser who thinks it's acceptable.

Trump surprised a lot of people by saying he wasn't going to deport those 11 million daily lawbreakers after all.  It truly was the big thing that separated him from johnson and the others.   He backtracked on stopping all Muslim immigrants... at this point, it's down to "certain people with crtain beliefs from certain regions"... the 911 hijackers came from Germany.  If you're going to let most in, the bad guys will get in.  Then Trump goes ahead and says the 11 million illegals (and probably much higher), they get to stay if they don't rape/kill.   Unreal.   Two major planks that got him past jeb, rubio, cruz... and then he magically turns liberal on these issues.

It's official: Trump is going full liberal.  He's flipflopping on major issues every week now.  Can't wait to see what conservative plank he abandons next week in the name of pandering.

He's still a better choice than Hilary or Hilary's puppet, Trump.

Trump is way more of a leftist than Johnson is... and at least johnson is consistent with his positions.  Trump had you eating out of his hand with "I'mma stop all muslims" and "i'mma deport all illegals".   Then he just dropped them like a hot potato when it was time to pander.
