Well ronnie said that he is aiming to win the olympia 10 times then retire after 2007 lets see what he brings to the table this year.

ah man, that sucks, Ronnie is banged up

If he didn't have a bad leg and bad lat as everyone sayd he might have won the O last year and the year before that.

This year he might as well stay home. Clearly his training will be affected as it was for the past 8 years. All of the those healthy young bucks looking to take his title should have some pity on the old man.
Here comes the money shot

Ronnie's triceps have been messed up for a while, supposedly from "bursitis". His torn lat has long been visible. The quad tear is the only new one and it is probably mild, like Victor Martinez's.

if any of that is true then thats the only way he ever loses.  even for people that don't like him it would be a shame to lose him to that kind of stuuf.  don't say too much for the guy that eventually wins it either.  that sucks, but like someone else posted those 2 injuries he had for a while and it hasn't stopped him yet so.  this is the test of a true champ to overcome adversity such as this.

So basically, Ronnie's muscle tears could open the door for a Cutler victory?

Who'd have thought a case of Ronnie bursitis could unite us?

Ron's injuries *could* possibly allow Yates to finally beat him, on getbig threads. :D

Pumpster, if Ronnie comes in at 90% of this pic below, even the Yates nuthuggers would go cry screaming to their mama.  It would not even be close.  Much less Jay beating him  ::).  Not going to happen unless decides to take the year off from training.

The quad has shown a small tear for a few years now. The vastus has been creeping upwards since.

I hope Ronnie doesn't look over his shoulder......something may be gaining.

It's just a matter of time before someone pushes Ronnie out of the game.  Old bodybuilders don't retire.......they are "retired".

Either by the powers that be, or a player on the rise.

One way or another, Ronnie's days are numbered, whether he knows it or not.

Hail Mary.

they said the same thing in 2000, 2001 and 2002...and look what happened: ronnie shows up in 2003 and 2005 in good shape, winning easily.  In 2004, he didn't look so great, but fortunately, neither did anyone else.

that being said, although he is aging, he still looked better in 2005 that he had in quite awhile, so you never know: look at Vince Taylor - age is just a number.

It might be the same situation with Ronnie.

and, keep in mind, that with Dexter seemingly out of the Olympia picture (will he even compete this year?), his competition is getting easier rather than harder. You have:

Jay - at 100%  he is only 75% of Ronnie.
Dex - will he even show up this year? last year was a no show/
Branch - doing well, but needs a back and arms.
Gustavo - gut is getting worse, soft from the back.
Victor - never shows up in shape anymore.
Vince Taylor - given the competition, will probably place second this year! 8)

Mr. Olympia is Mr. Olympia until he decides to retire, PERIOD.

Coleman will never have surgery....they tried to get him to do it in '97 I believe he wouldnt allow it.

Like anybody in a demanding sports that is tough on the body, Coleman is great, but as he ages his body will eventually reach a breaking pt, sad but true. Happens to everyone from football players to boxers.

Ronnie looked good in 1998 when he beat Flex Wheeler (even though i would rather look like flex). Since then he has gone downhill big time.

As I said if Ron keeps going downhill he'll be into Yates territory somewhere around 2013.  ::)

Does anyone know when those pics of ronnie training chest, tris and abs were taken in the latest flex.

HE LOOKS HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE and Untouchable.

no sign of a torn tricep or lat in those pictures. Someone posted a pic of him hitting the front double bi (but it was photoshopped on the left arm)....the flex pictures he looks amazing.

I'm not sure when they were taken, but if they were recent then the injuries rumors are bullshit.

Ether, by now it should be obvious that six months out from every Mr. Olympia there are rumors of Ronnie's demise.  Hell, half the posters bring out the spectre of Dorian's ghost to prove their point (albeitly, incorrectly  ::)).  Face it, until Coleman comes into the Mr. Olympia looking fat and out of shape, all these rumors are just that...rumors.  Hell, if photoshopping were a prize the Ronnie haters like physixius, etc would win awards.  Bottom line, he will win till he decides to quit.  No ifs, ands or buts.  The more compelling question is who is going to succeed Ronnie and will he take the sport in a new direction (aesthetics, shape, etc) or continue with shear freakiness as the standard.  Think about it, Ronnie's supposed competition is not exactly young.  Heck, Jay is nearing 33 or so.  I believe Dex is older, and Gunther is likely in his mid 30's.  The only new guys are Heath and Wolf, and I doubt they will be Mr. Olympia anytime soon. ;D  Heck, it is conceivable that Vince Taylor at near 50 could place top five at the Mr. Olympia and win its master's division.  :o  Age ain't nothing but a peanut to these guys.

Yeah, he'll go for nine, then "retire" (i.e. be forced out by weider inc.)

The next Mr. Olympia will probably be Cutler for 1 or maybe 2 years at the max.

It will be interesting if they change the judging to place aesthetics higher.
