When I was a kid, there was Wonder Woman and the chick from Fantastic Four. Thats all I can remember. Now, we have a bunch of generic women super hero's. Poison Ivy? Bat Girl? Harley Quinn? WTF.

Apparently girls no longer want to play with Barbie. This is why we have women posting on FaceBook, Instagram, etc. etc. doing deadlifts and taking steroids. Thier version of femininity is warped. This is why the American family structure is F'ed. Todays women drink from beer bottles, lift heavier weights then their boyfriend, can't cook but still play the victim when it suits them. Now you see why divorce rates are up.

My 6 year old daughter loves superheros and now loves DC Superhero Girls.  Toys designed very similar to Barbie toylines, but with articulation for better play.  

Batgirl and Poison Ivy were first introduced in the 60s while Harley Quinn was introduced in the late 80s/early 90s.

Supergirl was introduced in the late 50s/early 60s, Bumblebee in the 70s and of course Wonder Woman in the 40s.

They've been around for quite awhile.

Nothing to do with feminism or whatnot. It's about $$$$.  Comics always catered to men and that is less than 50% of the market, why limit your market to 1/2 of the population?  They added all these female heroes to lure girls to buy their products and make more $$$.  If half the population were termites they'd create 100 termite heroes.
