You know, in trying to find out how to best avoid, survive and thrive during and after a nuclear blast, I've realized something I was not aware before: That the people who make the economic, political and military decisions in this world
tend to be old folks who don't give a shit about the future, precisely because they have the Gates of Heaven in plain sigh.
Take, for example, the Cuban missile crisis: Khrushchev (68 years old) vs. Kennedy (45 years old). John instructed his generals to hold until he gave the order. Nikita told his officers to attack at first sign of hostility. Or even Arkhipov (36 years old) vs. Maslennikov (62 years old) & Savitsky (66 years old). In all cases, it was the old farts that made the decision to fire nuclear weapons and hence begin what was probably the eradication of human life in this planet. And I've noticed this to be more of a constant than isolated incidents.
Makes me wonder as to why do we passively accept old people making decisions that could potentially affect human existence in the future.
Take for example the United Nations:

It's jam-packed with old pension seeking ex-politicians and ex-diplomats that can't seem to agree on anything. WHY is it still in existence?
