Guys, at this point, the kind of outright hostility that would end up with a multi-megaton nuke (like a Tsar Bomba) right smack in the center of Midtown Manhattan is basically nonexistent. The worst that could potentially happen is that Kim Jong-un has a bad day and decides to land one in LA. At this point in time, this isn't even a worse case scenario, it's beyond that. If something were to happen, if at all, it would come from Islamic terrorists and it would come in the form of one or two small nukes, 5kt each at most. Don't get me wrong, a 5 kiloton nuke would create a nice crater around Times Square, but it wouldn't relocate the island of Manhattan into New Jersey (God Forbid!).
If anything were to happen, it would be a small nuke in Midtown, power would go out, traffic would come to a standstill and there would be massive casualties from the fallout. Best bet, for New Yorkers, would be to walk to NJ and take it from there (unless the military cordons off the island before you make it to the other side).
Honestly, knowing how fucked up in the head these ISIS fighters are... that they would love to see an American city nuked to ground is an understatement. What pisses me OFF to no end is to know virtually NO American city has nuclear emergency contingency plans in place just in case one of these fuckers slips one by customs. I mean, we have 3 Mile Island and Indian Point a stone-throw away, and there HAVE been incidents in the past, which makes it even worse.
