I remember all the fuss and concern over the now infamous Mayan calendar doomsday predictions .
Since the Mayan calendar ended on Dec 21 , 2012, it was assumed that the world would end on that date.
Books were sold , web sites buzzed and they even made a major motion picture on it.
I was with the dumb , naïve crowd , mired down in basic physical sciences.
The geologic evidence clearly showed that a draught caused the decline of the Mayan civilization .
When you're starving with a severe lack of water, keeping up the calendar is going to lose importance.
Of course, many diehard believers claimed this was mainstream science trying to hide the real truth.
In their minds , the draught evidence was nothing more then a mainstream media effort to hide things.
Guess what? The world didn't end 4 years ago and the doomsday theory was silly nonsense.
Now we have plenty of people doing the same thing in related topics .
Fake news sites and mainstream news conspiracy is what many people believe now.
Of course, I'm the silly, naïve one because I still refer to mainstream, referenced sources for my information.
Until the next doomsday date....take care LOL
