Ever thought of doing this to certain protestors?
« on: December 07, 2016, 08:23:29 AM »
1. During the early days of the 2003 Iraq war, several anti-war protests went on.
I remember seeing some anti-war folks laying in the main roads in metro -Atlanta at rush hour.
I was watching in while on a gym treadmill and it pissed me off.

Why?
Here they were, blocking the roads preventing working folks from driving home.
After a full day on the job, 1000's of citizens had to wait for some ass clowns to get out of the road.
I was pulling for some good ol' boys from a construction site, to run over them in their trucks LOL.

Guy protesting was cited in this '14 incident, not the driver.  Not long ago in Nevada (Reno area) a guy in a pickup ran through some protesters who were in the road, too.

(Reuters) A 19-year-old Oregon man who was struck by a vehicle last week after joining a crowd of demonstrators to block traffic in protest against the killings of black men by police has been ticketed for his actions, Portland police said on Monday.

The driver of an Audi sports utility vehicle struck the protester on Saturday while he was trying to navigate a downtown Portland street filled with people chanting "Black Lives Matter," according to a police report.

"He was too afraid to stop as the protesters surrounded his car and he was concerned for his safety and the safety of his family," Portland Police Department Sergeant Pete Simpson said, adding that the driver left the scene and later called police to report his involvement.

The protests in Portland were part of broader national demonstrations over the killings of black males by police officers in Missouri, New York, Cleveland and elsewhere that have put police treatment of minorities squarely in the national spotlight.

The protester hurt in the Oregon demonstration, Julian Rist, was briefly hospitalized for a foot and ankle injury. Police issued him a ticket for "improper position on a highway" and said he was one of about 30 people who left city sidewalks to block traffic during the protest.

Simpson said the driver, 37-year-old Thomas Munsey, was not cited and was unaware of any plans to issue him a ticket.

The case in Reno area (happened downtown Reno, in fact, under the Arch) involved an "anti-Columbus Day" protest that wasn't with permit or anything else (that's fine, but...) and the crowd decided to block the street.  They exchanged angry words with two guys in a little pickup truck who were trying to travel somewhere, then surrounded the truck and caused the driver and his passenger to feel (understandably) threatened and the driver decided to punch it the F out of there.

The mayor and others really, really wanted the truck driver to be prosecuted, but he was not (that I know).  Will look a bit and see if there are any updates on it.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- Reno Police continue to investigate a case in which five people were treated for minor injuries after being hit by a pickup driver during a confrontation in downtown Reno. It happened the evening of October 10, 2016, during a Columbus Day protest put on by the American Indian Movement of Northern Nevada (AIMNN).

Police say a group of about 40 protesters, with no protest permit, was standing in the crosswalk blocking traffic at the Reno arch. Some of the protesters were from the American Indian Movement of Northern Nevada. The driver of a pickup drove southbound on Virginia Street and stopped in front of the protest, at which point, police say, several of the protesters approached the truck. There was a confrontation between the occupants of the truck and the protesters that went on for about a minute. At some point during the confrontation with the protesters, the driver of the truck drove forward through the crowd before leaving the scene.

There are witness accounts, still being investigated, that the truck was seen multiple times in the area before the incident.

According to REMSA, one person was taken to a hospital with minor trauma injuries. Four other patients refused transportation to a hospital; two of those were the truck driver and passenger; two were protesters.

Reno Police say the driver of the pickup stopped several blocks away and called police to provide his account of the events. He and his passenger were interviewed and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No one has been charged and no names have been released.

According to Lorayn Walser, Secretary of AIMNN, the organization was having a peaceful protest downtown. It wants Columbus Day to be changed to Indigenous People's Day in Nevada.

You can see people trying to reach in, trying to enter vehicle, etc., and I sincerely doubt they want to shake hands.

Turns out it was a couple of teenagers -- 18 yr old driver, 17 yr old passenger -- and they drove off after each were punched (by individuals surrounding the vehicle).  Two people were busted for the assaults.  But the driver was also busted for "provoking assault" which sounds like someone is playing up to the mayor and other "important" people who wanted to see him prosecuted for something.
