Looks like 2 proximal bicep tears.
Used to come in on Friday nights along with the rest of the WWF crew when I worked at Manions way back in the 80s.

75 and still kicking.  Gains an extra 1/2 inch on bicep measurement from excess hairiness

Curious, where does this photo of someone placing 19th in the USAs in 1982 come from?  What magazine listed this?  Was the NPC news even published back then?  Was it just reported because  he was famous?

Props for his getting lean and on stage in any case, even knowing he didn't have perfect genetics.

i don't think npc newd was around then. I think it started around 85?  When did Shawn ray win the USA was it or the nationals? That's the first npc news I remember seeing. Does it still exist?

As trivia here are my guesses judging by pic.
1. Muscle Digest
2. Bob Hoffmanns MD
3. Musclemag

Dam I can't believe I tossed all my muscle digests. Cool west coast scene mag.

Yeah, but do you think even those mags would have reported down to 18th with a photo, even at a National show?

one of them prolly did just because he was a pro wrestler already. Maybe they just showed him. But also anyone remember muscle digest? They would have dozens of pix of most everyone in the contests. Rows and columns of them.

Putski indeed got a lot of coverage because of his wrestling status. During the late 70's, early 80's he'd show up a lot just randomly in the mags "Oh look, there's Polish Power, Ivan Putski spotting xyz on the bench....". He was also really good about giving interviews to them, so that probably helped.

That being said, you did seem to have a better chance getting a picture or low place result in the older mags. I remember the old yellow Ironman mags were good for stuff like that. They'd report the contest long form, and occasionally stick a few photos of the low place finishers in there just randomly.

Recently watched one of his matches and he appeared to work rather stiff. Did he have a reputation for that?
