wow - don't "blindly trust" anyone
way to go out on a limb
does anyone here actually blindly trust anyone?
the only people I can think who actually blindly trust the media are hardcore Fox News viewers (you know who I'm talking about)
of course, this idiot from Texas is saying that we should blindly trust Donald Trump, a person that almost all of us would agree is a pathological liar or at the very least has a tenuous relationship with the truth (and perhaps with reality)
There's plenty of hardcore Fox News viewers who blindly believe what they're spooonfed. Just like there's plenty of hardcore MSNBC viewers who blindly believe what they're spoonfed. It's simple: There's people who blindly believe conspiracy theories about PizzaGate, the Bilderberg Group, contrails, fluoride, Nibiru, Olympia judging, Obama's birthplace and the flatness or hollowness of the earth.
You are in that group: news that agrees with your worldview is reliable and credible and weight must be given to it. News that doesn't agree with your worldview isn't and shouldn't. You are in that group with people like The Coach - in opposite political corners but brothers in spirit nonetheless.
You may think my statement isn't going out on a limb. I disagree. It is. Exactly because the vast majority of people blindly ingest and regurgitate the news they're force-fed without doing any critical thinking or attempting to learn about all sides of an issue.
As for what Donald trump is? He's a politician with an ego that is the size of Jupiter. His relationship with the truth may be... let's be generous and say unconventional. But how is that different from any other politician?
I don't particularly like Donald Trump. I didn't think he was particularly qualified to be President, but he got elected and I'll reserve judgement about how good he'll be in that position. He certainly schooled everyone by giving a masterful performance and rewriting the political playbook. Regardless of his performance as President, we are in a new era of politics: the era of Trump.
But, so far, unlike most politicians, he seems to at least be trying to uphold some of his campaign promises - whether those promises were good or bad, smart of stupid. I can respect that.
With that said, if he tells you the sky is blue, you should double-check just to be sure. If for no other reason, because he may come the next day and tell you it's red. And he may not even be lying: the sky is blue when the sun is rising and it is red when the sun is setting.
