Spirit is a bargain if you know what you are getting in to
Yes you can only bring a bag that fits under the seat in front of you if you don't want to pay extra
Yes the seats are shit and do not recline
Yes you have to pay for water and snacks

But if you are making short trips then an hour and a half flight is no big deal
I plan ahead: buy a water and snack at a gift shop to bring on board
And my gf and friends have clothes of mine so all I pack is laptop, socks, undies

Can't beat $46 round trips when southwests lowest price for same destination is $160

with China now rolling out their own fleet of Planes, I'm sure they'd get rid of their Boeings and Airbuses in 20yrs.....hahahah

Most of China's airlines are state owned as is the Comac aircraft company.  Comac's order books are full from state owned airlines and only state owned airlines.

You're not the customer Spirit wants.  They want the customer that checks their bag at the gate for $100.  They will however use you as the example of the satisfied customer when criticized.  You're right, if you know their fee structure and plan appropriately you can get a bargain.

America!  Of the fifty busiest airports in the world, 16 are in America and only six are in China.

Of the five biggest airlines in the world, four are American and only one is Chinese.
1.    Delta Air Lines
2.    Southwest Airlines
3.    China Southern Airlines
4.    United Airlines
5.    American Airlines

I understand China is growing fast, but America has air superiority.

read the CAPA reports etc etc -
