Not get away with per say but I could kill at least 50 of my neighbours before I got caught this afternoon if I wanted to.
Just go and wave to them through the window and when they let me in club them to death, then go next door and so on.

We had a guy killing people in the UK a few years ago (Hungerford) he had an AK47 and only managed 17 I think, I could top that with a lump hammer.

the majority of murders tend to be someone the victim knew.  If you just happen to go to some random state and choose some random person and kill them and move on they'll never know.  it was a lot easier 10 years ago before they had cameras everywhere.  Now it's hard to not be on some sort of surveillance vid.

Yeah this is what I was getting at. I was talking about the series "Breaking Bad" with someone shortly before I read about this guy and we were going over some of the unrealistic aspects of it.  I posited that WW getting away with SOME of the killings wasn't that unrealistic because he had no clear connection to the victims, but the sheer number, lack of precautions and amount of people who had to be in on them as the series progressed stretched credulity. As in this case, choosing a killing or abduction victim at random would be a pretty difficult case to solve under not that unusual circumstances.
