Most elite fighters win until their skills begin to diminish. Then they lose. It isn't all about their aura, it's much more about those skills diminishing.

Do you think Anderson's skills were "diminishing" when he got his ass handed back to him by CW? Do you think Tyson's skills were on the way down when he lost to Buster Douglas right after the later lost his mother and was in I-don't-a-shit mode?

No, it has nothing to do with "aura". Take a look at what Mike used to say about the majority of boxers he knocked out:

I always use this analogy: How do you eat a soft shell crab? You start with the legs and work your way to the body.

I know how to handle him? Dude, 99% of the people he's fought lose the fight before they step into the ring. The Jones aura is bigger than Silva's.

Mark my words: Someone's going to beat him eventually and, all of a sudden, Jones is going to start getting beaten left and right because people will then know he's beatable.

Wow! For someone who has never stepped into the cage professionally you sure know Jones and all the other fighters quite well. How much time have you spent with Jones and the other fighters that you  know so much what goes on in their heads? Why aren't you a pro?

And EVERYONE gets beat eventually.

So what was so special about Buster Douglas that made him unaffected by Tyson's aura that was the undoing of so many other established and experienced pros that got destroyed by Tyson? How did Tyson develop such an aura that overcame his opponents when he was 19 and still relatively unknown?

I don't know what it was, but in some of the fights you could tell who was scared and who wasn't. In the first fight against Ruddock Mike, allegedly, looked at Razor during the stare-down and told him "You know I'm going to kill you right?," to which the taller fighter responded "I know".

What? I didn't get that at all! Ruddock looked very willing to take on Tyson. Tyson had already lost to Douglas and his "aura" of invincibility was shattered. Ruddock lasted a lot longer than most of Tyson's opponents and the fight was stopped in the 7th round. A stoppage that most felt was premature.

To say that Ruddock went into that fight "knowing" that he will "get killed" is simply not true. If it was as obvious as you claim it was why hasn't anybody else, any commentators and experts, make that same observation?

Not at light heavyweight he won't.

His competition is simply too small and will never overcome his reach. And we've seen what happens when he fights someone closer to his own size, so he'd just be another so so fighter at heavyweight.

I'm kinda rooting for Cormier.

But I wouldn't mind seeing Jones win. I think both fighters.
They are both fighters, but I think Cormier will outsize him.

Not sure if he will match this form of his though!

return of the "constanty circling around the opponent so that he can excute the classical right high round kick of his, but has already been figured out and his muay thai style of fighting will not work in the modern world, ever"

crocops highlight reel is awesome tho!
