Anti-catabolic effects of ephedrine

I know that ephedrine is anti-catabolic, but could someone explain in detail as to why this is?

The short answer is that it is a beta agonist (with indirect and some direct activity) . Beta agonists 2 are theorized to have some anabolic properties.
