Vacuum pose - how to achieve the best vacuum pose
« on: September 07, 2017, 12:39:03 PM »
Been getting into vintage BB more and more as the freaks get bigger. I've now incorporated many vintage exercises to my routine..

Question about the vacuum pose. It's said to each the best vacuum you want to have a small and compressed stomach(actual organ) to achieve this classic BBer were known to eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of typical 4-6, more like 7-8 thoughts?

No more than 15 almonds at a time and you'll be fine.

"vacuum pose"  ::)

that some skinny yoga shit, who ever brought that to bodybuilding should be shot

might as well to a split on stage that only guys with skinny legs can pull off

a pose that a big bodybuilder cant make should be disqualified since its just a sneaky move from a skinny dude who cant get huge and have no business being on stage to begin with

Considering that 1980 Nationals overall winner Gary Leonard is alive and well today at age 61, it's little wonder that he could pull off an impressive vacuum pose at age 9 in 1965.  ;D

EDIT:  But you're right, I'd forgotten about his impressive "rope" pose when he won the Nationals.  Who could pull that off today??

Where is he now?

No idea where he is today.  But as of 2012, he was running as an Independent for the Boundary County (ID) Sheriff.  I kind of gave up cyber-stalking him after that.  Use the googler and tell us what you find.

Actually a quick search of the Bonners Ferry (Idaho) Herald website turned up a number of other hits--apparently he's very civically active in his community, which is cool to see.

DAN-O, Thanks, you are correct. I meant to say JOHN CORVELLO!

I helped GARY a bit when he won the AAU MR A (or was it the NPC at time?). We were good friends back then but over the years we lost contact.

The last time we communicated ... he had just been rescued from a 3 day loss in some forest in mid east Cal.

Let me know if you know how to contact him.

Thanks again!

lie on your back and practice sucking in your stomach/abs. Keep doing this until you can hold it for awhile. Thank me later.
