Bodybuilding has officially chimped out.

It's like going to the circus to watch the human freaks, except these freaks CHOOSE to look like defectives.

when people watch horse racing they see humans on top of horses.

but in the case of bodybuilding, the bodybuilders themselves are the animal.

= not 99% dna with gorilla.

Isn't that what bodybuilding-shows are all about, normal people watching freaks?

They do things to their body for the public and viewers pleasure.

Similar to circus sideshows of old.

In the Arnold era they weren't seen as circus freaks, because people wanted to look like Arnold, Zane etc and this carried through to a good degree into the 80's and 90's with guys like Benfatto, Paris, Labrada etc

It’s an embarrassing freak show and I don’t tell anyone I follow the sport. Not even the gf knows.

Not back in the day, but today it's a circus!

You are correct in that people WANTED to look like Zane et al back then, but not today.

People just watch them as a show these days.

Nonbodybuilders always thought bodybuilders were weird.  It is a subculture, not main  stream.  I had many conversations starting in the early 80s where people said it was "gross."

I would hide my muscle magazines when reading them in public.

Kevin was/is not 5'11" fool. He was always listed as 5'9" throughout his career (I think I saw one 5'9.5" in the early 90's in a magazine). Might be less today.
Don't go by wikipedia (which lists him as 5'11") or imdb (which had him at 6'0"!).

In all fairness, he is in his early 50's and has been lifting heavy weights for 40 years. He might have lost some height since his prime.
