I enjoy the journey to the competition. Seeing your body change almost daily towards the end. The hard work and dedication that you know that most people can not do to achieve that look. As I get older the competition s are what o hate the most. U go to show as see the arrogance and attitudes of these younger ppl. For most its all they have. You see the promoters over charging making thousands off kids on dreams that one they might get a pro card.

I like the expression of a work ethic in the gym. If I am honest I like looking good. I'm nearly 60 and 99% of guys my age look like old men. So many guys around my age are delusional and think they are still looking good but they are a mess.  Bust my balls all you want but I like the attention from women.

If I get top six in my weight class at the strongman nationals, is that enough for blue stars?  Or do you need to turn pro, which would mean winning my weight class?  Or is it strictly bodybuilding only?  I could swear Mike Wolf had blue stars for being a pro in strongman.

I'm not sure if merely having ok success in the amateur ranks is enough.

I like the lies. Ignorance is bliss. I loved basketball but my height and genetics took me as far as making a college team...I was never going to go further no matter what...the genetics of height and quickness were just a brutal reality.

Then you just stop progressing...you watch pick up basketball and no one ever gets better..bunch of fat slobs fighting and arguing over calls..its just boring because everyone pretty much kmows they are just park hacks..

But the wonderful lies of bodybuilding keep it interesting..that "magic stack"...you just haven't found yet..

Up the protein..cycle the protein...no carb..low carb..cycle carbs...all bullshit unless you have the genetics but the lies keep it fun...

Theres always some bullshit to keep you thinking you can get that look you first saw on the magazines..but you never really do unless you have the genetics

But its still fun that the lies make it "possible" in your mind...no other sport like it.
