It's true. Prior to the Renaissance the middle East was more advanced. They peaked with the drive of Vienna and control of shipping in most of the Mediterranean

Arabs "invented" the wheel?!  Really now...No one knows who invented the wheel.  This is like Wiggs saying Jewish people are really black. i.e., utter bullshit.  What's next, the Arabls invented the stick?  Oh yeah, that one's covered by Aboriginal peoples in Australia.

I imagine Arabs might have invented the first goat fucking contest or the first anal probe (see "stick" above), but the wheel?  Fuck that noise.

The Eastern Roman Empire was still ahead of the 'Franks' of the West and the Arabs. The West took some time to fully recover after the disintegration of the Western Roman Empire but the Eastern half managed to stay intact, preserving much of the culture of the ancient world.

Constantinople was the largest and most sophisticated city in the Mediterranean and Arab world.

Moslems ban musical instruments, so that part of their culture already takes a knock.

The Greeks and Arabs were well on their way to advanced mathematics, and would've discovered calculus shortly. It was the "plague" of the middle ages, and the poison of repressive religion like Islam, that stunted academia.

Advanced in trade? Yes, they decimated Europes economy for centuries but in science and philosophy? People still buy the "dark ages" crap they were served in schools…

The popular depiction of the "Dark Ages" which portrays a primitive society is a myth. Most historians don't even use the term due to it's negative connotations.

The Middle East was advanced in science and philosophy during this period though. However, it's important to understand that the region's society was very different to what it is now. It had a religiously diverse population. Christians were large in number and the Muʿtazilites, an Muslim sect that held a very liberal interpretation of the religion were also prominent.

There are some growing nationalist movements in Iran that want the people to reject Islam (which they view as a foreign Arab religion) and instead, embrace the pre-Islamic beliefs of Persia such as Zoroastrianism.

Euclid's Elements of geometry was translated from Arabic into Latin in Toledo.  Written in 300 BC, it has been referred to as the most successful and influential textbook ever written. It was one of the very earliest mathematical works to be printed after the invention of the printing press and has been estimated to be second only to the Bible in the number of editions published since the first printing in 1482.
