Whilst I have come to realise that dj isn't a full shilling and ergo should be taken too seriously...
He is living for the moment is what you should have said.....Doing it right isn't quite what I would call it. I mean the memories of these impulsive self gratifying behaviours will certainly help him when hes old and broke hey? Or the health care he will need when hes old, I'm sure he can pay for that in old mc donalds wrappers.
Hell I used to behave like dj.......when I was a teenager.
Call me wrong but I intend on enjoying the latter years of my life, exercising the freedom to do as I wish when I wish utilising the nice little nest egg I am building now. Sure I would toss it off and live the life of a gym rat, great for the short term...lets see how enjoyable it is when your 60 and broke.
I understand your point of view, put it this way, would I want to live DJ's life, no, but nothing in life is guaranteed, you can plan all you want and save all you want for retirement, but who knows if you'll make it to 60? And honestly what kind of fun are you going to have at 60 anyway? Even if you are in "good" shape. Your youth is when you need to enjoy the moment, it's your prime! Take risks, be adventurous, live in the moment, and if you have to work in your 60's or 70's fuck it, at least you'll have something to do instead of golfing, gardening, sitting at home watching Tv. You run outta shit to do when you're retired trust me, my ships passengers is mainly comprised of senior citizens and retirees and most of them don't look like they are basking in all the glory of retirement. So one person's outlook on life man look "insane" to another, but isn't it a little "insane" to work all your life for something that you don't know will actually take place or not? Live it up bro's, enjoy your life while your in your prime!
